THEATRE - PLAYWRITING
The Playwrights of WHS are responsible for writing the final production of the Westside Theatrical Production Season. In addition, students will be encouraged to submit one act plays to various local youth playwriting contests. In addition, these students will have the opportunity to direct the Student Directed One Act Plays in the spring.

PREREQUISITES
Students wishing to participate in Playwriting should have had at least two years in Theatre including one year in Theatre Production or Varsity Technical Theatre.
REQUIREMENTS
Students will write nearly every other day and therefore will need a hard bound journal to keep with them every day.
PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE
Student Directors will work with members of the Junior Varsity Theatre Production Company in the late winter to produce the Student Directed One Act Plays. The script for the May show will be submitted in pieces in late February. Final scripts for the HYPE playwriting contest hosted by the Alley Theatre will be due in April
