Philharmonia is the entry level performing string ensemble at Westside High School.  This is open to all students who wish to continue their string instrument instruction.  There is no audition to be a part of this ensemble. 
This ensemble will perform music from all periods of music history, including lighter classical and pops music.  The focus will be on improving their technical and musical skills.  Students are expected to perform in all concerts, which will be set by the director.  Special performances will require after school rehearsals.

CHAMBER ORCHESTRA

Our Chamber Orchestra is the premiere level string ensemble at Westside High School.  This orchestra is open to students who have passed an audition with the director.  This ensemble will perform music from all periods of music history, including baroque, classical, romantic, and some pops.  Students are expected to perform in all concerts, which will be set by the director.  It is highly recommended that students in this ensemble take private lessons to advance their technique and get one on one attention outside of the classroom.  Students are responsible for private practice and after school rehearsals.
