Be part of something big—your future

The Business Academy provides opportunities for students interested in pursuing a career in a variety of business areas. Through the combination of business classes, fieldtrips, shadowing opportunities, internships, guest speakers, and community workshops, you will be better prepared for college as well as other future endeavors.

Students choose from four business strands: General Business, Magnet, Business Ownership, and Entrepreneurship. They are designed to appeal to a variety of business interests and allow students flexibility with their schedule and input into their learning.

Enrichment Opportunities

Guest Speakers: Members from our business community are invited into the school so students can learn information from successful businesspeople first hand.  Experts from a variety of fields will be invited.

Fieldtrips: Students from the Business Academy will have the opportunity to attend an assortment of fieldtrips to see businesses in action.

Shadowing: Students who apply for job shadowing opportunities will spend a day following a professional to learn first hand what the job entails.

Internships: Upper class students can apply for off-campus internships to gain work experience and increase marketability.

Community Workshops: Westside students, with the assistance of business partners, will offer a variety of workshops for parents and the community to learn basic business skills such as how to file taxes.
