REGISTRAR’S OFFICE New
Student Registration – What to Bring NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION -- Tuesday thru Friday only -- 8:00 a.m. - 10 a.m. Please sign in at the front office. Come to the registrar's office with the proper documents. (See link above) TRANSCRIPTS § Transcript Request Forms are available on our website and in the Registrar’s Office (A-116). There is a $1 charge per transcript, payable in cash only. During the school year, please allow 3 working days for mailing. § Final Transcripts means the transcript that bears the date of graduation. Please note that Final Transcripts will not be mailed until the end of the second week of June after all end of year updating was completed. The Registrar’s Office has contacted various universities and their deadlines for Final Transcripts are prior to their Fall Semester starting. § Students or parents needing transcripts over the summer will be able to request transcripts in the Main Office – there is a $1 charge for all transcripts. During the summer, transcripts will be sent out when staff is available; we are working with skeleton staffing. Turn around time is typically 7 days over the summer. § Please remember that the NCAA Clearinghouse and Universities take at least 10 working days to do their processing once the transcripts have been received. NCAA Clearinghouse has also made it quite clear to my office that they will not accept any personally mailed transcripts; they must be mailed from my office. In addition, any addresses that are on the transcripts are not used to mail out any information. NCAA Clearinghouse is what the name implies. It is a clearinghouse and does not generate scholarships; that is dependent on the universities your student is applying. § NCAA Clearinghouse does require that my office send a copy of your student’s release form that you will have to print off the website of NCAA. The Registrar’s Office needs two of these release forms – one goes with the first transcript and the second goes when your student graduates at the end of the school year. DIPLOMAS Diplomas and panoramic pictures will be given out June 4-15, 2007 between the hours of 8:00 am-12:00 pm and 1:00-3:00 pm (an ID is required to pickup your diploma). CREDIT APPEAL Students who did not do their Credit Appeals in the time requested by their Deans and needed those credits to be moved to the next grade level have been retained and will not be reclassified until the community service hours have been signed off by their Dean. SUMMER GRADUATES § The Summer School Graduation date has yet to be announced. We will post this as soon as it is available; please check back. § In addition, the date for satisfying graduation requirements for Summer Graduation has not yet been announced. Since we do not have accurate phone numbers for all the Summer School graduate candidates, please send an email to cstento@houstonisd.org prior to August 10 for confirmation that you have completed the requirements for graduation. During the school year, the Registrar’s Office is open 8:00 am–12:00 pm and 12:30– 4:00 pm, however please note specific hours noted for new student registration and diploma pick-up. Summer hours will be posted in late May.
