Flash Introduction for Portfolio

Create a storyboard for the introduction for the Web Mastering Portfolio. The intro should describe your work in the Web Mastering Class, and showcase your skills. There is no set length, but pace yourself so you can create the intro in the time given. May 13 -15 should be spent developing scene 1 of the introduction. This can be any type of movie you choose. The scene should contain text for letting your audience know what they are viewing, have a certain style that you have chosen, and highlight your personality. You must include a skip intro button and sound in this file. The movie will be created next week. It will lead to each of the projects that you have completed.

content.html will complete the Portfolio introduction. This is a web page that contains a Flash Movie that has 'buttons' that access each of the semester's projects. See list below for proper filenames. These are the ones that were assigned in class. You may need to actually look in your folder. Some of you did not use the file names that were suggested.

  • First Web Project - URL: first/index.html
  • Mutant - URL: mutant/index.html
  • Business/Club - URL: ????/index.html
  • Flash - URL: flash/index.html
  • Expression Web - URL: microsoft/index.html

Add sound to your intro if time.
Suggested Tutorial Sites:

May 19- 20

Microsoft Expression Web -- Student Survey
complete Tuesday, May 20

Develop content that describes each of the categories. This should be 1-2 sentences in length and describe what each category was about.

Save the this content to a Word document to the top level of your folder.

Create Portfolio Navigation (please read the first portion of the assignment found above)

Using the images you saved for the navigation in this project and the brief description of each, you will create a navigation system to all of the Web Mastering projects for this year.

An example of the file that you are going to create is linked here: Flash Intro. My expectations are that you will use your creativity to create a navigation that will showcase your abilities. The more interesting and challenging, the better the grade.

DUE DATE: May 20

Complete Portfolio Intro. File should be saved as index.fla to your web folder. It SHOULD NOT be inside any other folder. Your images can be in any folder you wish, just be sure you know where they are.

Requirements:

  • Two separate files:
    • index.html --should state what the portfolio is. Flash Movie should be imbedded in index.html. This file should be saved to TOP level of your folder ont he student sever.
    • content.html -- should have links to each of the six major projects and have some brief description of eac
  • Check for titles, spelling and grammar errors.
  • Skip button should be accessible from beginning of movie. It should skip to the content.html page. The content.html page should ALSO have a skip button to the last frame so you do not have to watch the entire movie.
  • Include sound if time permits
  • When you create the links back to the content page, you can copy/paste the image and URL. It is very important that you understand the path that this link represents. The index.html page is in the top level of your portfolio. The folders represent the projects done in class. The links from these pages must be correct in order to access the content page properly. See the example below. This example will have the portfolio icon on each page. The URL reflects the link BACK to the content page.

Link to Portfolio Contents

(this image should be in YOUR lesson folder. You can right click and save it to your folder on the student server if you wish) If you click on this image you will see the content.html file that was just created. Note that you use ../ to get OUT of the folder of the associated project, then type the filename: content.html. (ex: ../content.html -or- ../../content.html from the flash and microsoft folders)

I suggest making the image a link as well as including a text link. This should be on EVERY web page. All of the links should be the same if the directions during the year have been followed.
