Instructions for connecting to the HISD web server to allow web masters to work on their HISD website from school or home.

Requirements

1. FrontPage 2000 installed.
2. Internet access via an ISP ( Internet Service Provider)T1, DSL, ISDN, Cable Modem etc.
3. A web browser installed.
4. Modem/Internet connection

Connecting

1. Connect to your ISP. If you use Netscape, Internet Explorer, or AOL, minimize the window once you sign on.
2. Launch FrontPage.
3. Go to File an Open Web 
4. Type in the location box:  http:// hs.houstonisd.org (hs for high school, es for elementary school, and ms for middle school, www is for administration) then /yoursite.
5. You will get prompted for a login name and password. Type in web\ and then your HISD login and password.Eample: Username: web\username
   password: R878787
6. Select Open
7. Select Folders and you will see your files..

You will now be working off the web server. You may choose to publish to your harddrive and work offline and publish to HISD's web server when you have finished making changes.
