UNIT CREST

 

  Houston Independent School District JROTC, Houston, Texas, Shoulder Loop Insignia

Shoulder Loop Insignia.  Description:  A silver color metal and enamel insignia 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a blue enamel shield on which is a silver representation of the San Jacinto Monument below a five-pointed star emitting six rays, three downward to dexter and three downward to sinister, all silver.  Attached below the shield a blue enamel three segmented scroll inscribed “HONOR AND COURAGE” in silver letters.    

Background:  The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 25 March 1976
