Senior Exemptions
Seniors who wish to be exempt from their
Spring Semester finals must meet the following criteria:
1) an 85 average in the
course (average of both 9 weeks report card grades)
2) meet HISD attendance
policies (no more than 3 absences*)
3) at least an “S” in
conduct
*does not matter if they
are excused or unexcused
Each teacher is
responsible for exempting those seniors in their class that
meet the above criteria. If the student is exempt, the
teacher will mark “exempt” in Chancery instead of a final
exam grade.
Seniors who are exempt
must still attend class that day, as finals are administered
a week early.
Senior Final Exam Schedule
Senior Final Exams will
be administered the week before underclassmen finals.
Finals will be administered the week of May 19th
as follows:
May 19th
Monday
1st and 3rd periods
May 20th
Tuesday
5th and 7th periods
May 21st
Wednesday 2nd and 4th
periods
May 22nd
Thursday
6th and 8th periods
These days are regular
school days – the exam must be administered during the 90
minute class period. No early dismissal for seniors.
Makeup exams may be
scheduled at any time during this week including Friday, May
23rd.
All Senior grades must
be inputted into Chancery no later than Friday afternoon,
May 23rd. This is so the registrar can
verify grades and create the graduating seniors list.
IMPORTANT: If you
teach a senior in an underclassmen course – if they are
GRADUATING this May or in the summer – you will administer
these students their finals according to the schedule above.
You will also need to input their final exam grades and
averages into Chancery by Friday, May 23rd.
If you teach a senior but they are NOT graduating this May
or in the summer, they will take their final exams with the
rest of the students during the week starting Friday, May 23rd
and ending Thursday, May 29th.
Senior Activities during Finals Week
All seniors are REQUIRED to attend school during finals week
– starting on Friday, May 23rd. There are
senior activities planned for these days. |
