Application to the IB Program

The Lamar School of Business Administration is the only business magnet program in HISD. Its curriculum is an innovative college-preparatory program for students interested in careers in business administration.

The primary goals of the Lamar High School Magnet Program are to provide superior academic preparation for college-bound students and to stimulate the skills necessary for the development of future business leaders and entrepreneurs.

Students enrolled in the Lamar Magnet Program take one business course per year.

9th Grade- Introduction to Business
10th Grade- Business Management & Ownership (BMO)
11th & 12th Grade (one of the following)-Accounting, Computer Science, Business Law, BMO2, International Business, Macro/Micro Economics, Banking & Finance, Internship (12th Grade only)
