NBA Star Kicks off National Educational Initiative at Houston’s Jones High School

Sacramento Kings’ power forward Kenny Thomas  kicked off the Kenny Thomas Foundation “Live Blog Tour 2009 Education Initiative” in Houston during a celebration on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at Jesse H. Jones High School, 7414 Saint Lo Rd., Houston, TX 77033.  Jones High School will be the first high school in Houston to implement the Education Initiative, which includes mentoring, tutoring, and parental involvement programs.  The Kenny Thomas Foundation also awards college scholarships to qualifying students. The Education Initiative already has begun in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Thomas attended high school and college.  Featured speakers were Kenny Thomas, Forward, Sacramento Kings, Francisco Garcia, Forward, Sacramento Kings, Houston City Council Member Wanda Adams, Keith Norton, Sports Anchor, KPRC Local
