Organization of
Latin Americans

The Organization of Latin Americans was originally founded in 1989 by a group of five friends.  Since then, OLA has grown to be one of the most diverse and largest student organizations.  Throughout these years its members have participated in various community service events such as volunteering at the Ripley House, sponsoring toy drives, and helping out on Thanksgiving Day at the George R. Brown Convention Center.  OLA has also participated in the annual Fiestas Patrias Parade and has placed first and second in previous years in the walking division.  OLA has also always displayed the hispanic culture in DeBakey's annual International Festival by performing different dances such as merengue, cumbia, salsa, and folkorico.  It is our responsibility to make every year a memorable one for OLA.   By improving OLA year by year, we hope and invite DBHSHP students to join and keep the OLA spirit alive.
