The first ever OLA banquet was held December 12,
2003 after school in the student life center. The banquet's purpose was to
celebrate the holiday season and of course relieve some of the tension many
students feel before finals. Our guest speaker for that evening was Mr. Manuel
Rodriguez who is a prominent Latino in Houston. He graduated from UH and in 2003
was elected serve as trustee of District III of HISD. The ceremony was catered
by a well known restaurant hot spot, Taqueria del Sol. There was great food,
music, dancing, and all together enjoyment thanks to all OLA officers and
Sponsors who made the event a success.
