PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!

Without you, events might have to be cancelled!

Parents, your physical presence is greatly needed at DeBakey HSHP. The DeBakey students are involved in many activities. We need parents to volunteer to assist in chaperoning activities all year long in order for them to take place.

For the students' protection, the Houston Independent School District has adopted a policy that requires all volunteers to undergo a screening process. You must complete this HISD screening each year, prior to participating in an activity with the students. Please call the school at 713-741-2410 to get your volunteer application and to ask any questions or go to the HISD website at http://amun.houstonisd.org/visits/en-us/login.aspx to register online.

We look forward to seeing you!

Greetings on behalf of the DeBakey PTA,

The April DeBakey PTA meeting is this Tuesday, April 8th in the school library at 7:00 PM.

Agenda includes election of new officers for the 2008-2009 PTA Board, School update from Dr. Deason, Department presentation, end of year issues and activity announcements and more.

Please plan to attend the meeting and cast your vote. The positions you will be voting on are: President, First Vice President, Secretary, Second Vice President - Membership Chair, Treasurer, Third Vice President - Fundraising Chair, a Volunteers Coordinator, and 1st and 2nd Alternates. Come out and show your support to your school and your fellow parents.

The PTA Finance Committee is still happily accepting donations for our once a year fundraising campaign. If you have not donated, please download the attached form, write your check and bring it to the meeting or send it to the school office. The funds will be used to purchase classroom projectors. The PTA's goal is to raise enough money to put one in every classroom. We can do it with your help.

Dear Parents,

As the end of the school year approaches, please take a moment to look at your child's school uniforms. He/she may have out grown them or in the case of senior students, he/she may no longer want them after this school year ends.

If you think you will have any "experienced" school uniforms that your family will not need after the end of this school year, consider donating them to DeBakey for use by other students who may need them.

Contact Jeannine Perrot at jperrot@comcast.net if you are interested in donating.

Regards,

Jeannine Perrot
