Curriculum/Graduation Requirements     Four Year Course Sequence

The DeBakey High School for Health Professions was created to provide a comprehensive and challenging precollege academic and health-oriented educational program to motivate and enable students to pursue postsecondary health careers. Students attending the DeBakey HSHP follow the prescribed four-year course sequence. As a result, each student will exceed the minimum graduation requirements established by the Texas Education Agency and the Houston Independent School District. All students are required to participate in a health science course each year. Clinical learning experiences occur at Baylor College of Medicine affiliated teaching hospitals, and other health institutions in the Texas Medical Center.
