Welcome to Austin High School for the 2011-2012 school year!
This website is designed to improve communication between the school and students and their parents. The Austin administration wishes to increase parental involvement in order to improve the overall academic performance of the students as well as to cultivate the feeling of community at Austin High School.
Best wishes for a successful and enjoyable school year! Seniors and Juniors, our expectation is that you will rise to the leadership that you must fulfill in order to contribute to your school whole-heartedly, whether it will be in Academics/ National Honor Society, Science Club, Drama Club, Athletics, Art, Technology, JROTC, Math Club, Best Buddies, DECA, Student Council, Sonic Boom Marching Band, Emeralds, Envy, Future Business Leaders of America, Yearbook, Newspaper, Cheerleaders, FFA, or other student organizations and activities on our campus.
We strongly urge you to seek out Counselors, Mr. Vila, Ms. Peña, Mrs. Mayes, and Mrs. Booker (A204), and College Access Coordinator, Mr. Stickney (A210), so that you can access their resources regarding scholarships and university admissions. They will provide you with guidance in your pursuit of scholarship monies for your university education. In 2011, Austin seniors were able to obtain $1.4 million dollars in scholarships. We expect that our students will increase this amount in 2012.
