NEIGHBORHOOD VANGUARD APPLICATIONS AND TESTING
Applications are now being accepted for the Westside High School Neighborhood Vanguard Program. Students who are identified as Neighborhood Vanguard (formerly known as Gifted and Talented) have the opportunity to enroll in our unique GT Research Class grade 10 – 12) and to take GT Pre-AP and AP classes (9th grade only this year).
Students who were identified as “GT” or “Neighborhood Vanguard” in an HISD middle school carry that identification with them to high school. No further testing is required.
Students new to HISD must complete an application and take the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test in order to be considered. The testing window will be in mid-September. Applications can be downloaded at the HISD Vanguard webiste, or can be picked up in room A205. Applications are due to Stephanie Matlock by September 12th.
