Students choose from four business strands: General Business, Magnet, Business Ownership, and Entrepreneurship. They are designed to appeal to a variety of business interests and allow students flexibility with their schedule and input into their learning.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP and CULINARY ARTS PROGRAM

The Entrepreneurship and Culinary Arts program is an integral part of the Business Academy. The students involved in this program are trained in everything from sanitation and safety during food preparation to recipe structure and presentation skills. These students are also responsible for running the Outback Café on campus for students, faculty and community members. In addition, students participate in culinary competitions through Skills USA and ProStart. For more information about this program, please follow this link: Entrepreneurship and Culinary Arts program.

ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Guest Speakers: Members from our business community are invited into the school so students can learn information from successful businesspeople first hand.  Experts from a variety of fields will be invited throughout the year.

Fieldtrips: Students from the Business Academy will have the opportunity to attend an assortment of fieldtrips to see businesses in action.

Shadowing: Students who apply for job shadowing opportunities will spend a day following a professional to learn first hand what the job entails.

Internships: Upper class students can apply for off-campus internships to gain work experience and increase marketability. In the past, some of our students have held internships at Martinizing Dry Cleaners, Quentin Mease Hospital (occupational/physical therapy department), Petrobras, Sysco, and SCI..
