PARENT STUDENT CONNECT
HISD has launched a new and improved version of The Source this fall, giving parents and students secure online access to valuable information about a student and his or her classes.
Called Parent Student Connect (PSC), the new service allows registered users (i.e., parents and students) to log in to view a student's grades, assignments, progress reports, attendance records, achievement test scores, report cards, and more. Printed report cards and progress reports will still be distributed to students every 3 weeks but PSC will allow users to view all data as it is inputted; users can also set up "triggers" that send an e-mail or text message if a child's grades drop below a selected average or a student is absent or tardy to class. The PSC is your connection to the GradeSpeed program teachers will be using.
Registering with PSC and First-Time Use
Parents or students who have already created a user ID and password in The Source may use those and will not need to re-register. Please note that all links to The Source have been disabled as the information is no longer up-to-date.
Those not previously registered with The Source will need:
- Student ID Number (HISD)
- Student Date of Birth
- Student address as listed in HISD’s student information system.
- Last 5 digits of student’s social security number if on file with HISD. If not on file, use the last 5 digits of the “S-Number” provided to your child by HISD.
A copy of this information has been sent home with each student.
The following links provide first-time users information on how to register and helpful hints about using the new service:

We will also offer sessions here on campus to provide assistance to parents. Dates will be posted on our calendar and publicized in our news and homepage announcements.
Returning Users
We have added a Quick Link to our homepage to enable you to go directly to the PSC Login. If you have questions, please contact the HISD Help Desk at 713-892-7378.
