Dress Code For Students At BTW/HSEP, students are expected to enter this school well groomed and DRESSED FOR SUCCESS! SCHOOL UNIFORMS ARE IN EFFECT ON THIS CAMPUS. Students will NOT be allowed to attend class without the proper attire. The exception will be those students who are members of Clubs and Organizations who wear the individual Club attire on meeting day (Wednesday) and for special activities. Additional information regarding school uniforms may be received from the Office of Discipline or from any school faculty or staff member. Finally, all clothes must be purchased to fit. Baggy and sagging pants will not be permitted on campus. The school uniform dress code for 2008-2009 is as follows: The standard of dress for young men is as follows: PANTS/SHORTS (Docker Style): Cotton

All pants must be fitted at the waist with belts. The standard of dress for young ladies is as follows: PANTS/SKIRTS/CAPRI: Cotton

All pants, skirts, and capri must fit appropriately. Skirts should not
be more than two inches above the knee. Additionally, all students will be required to purchase a physical education uniform. T-Shirts
are Gold or Royal Blue $10.00 This “standard of dress policy “ is needed to create a more effective climate for learning, to improve safety and security, to promote school pride and unity, and to discourage gang-related problems. DRESS CODE VIOLATIONS Consequences for dress code violations are found in the HISD Code of Student Conduct. Specific examples of what to wear and what NOT to wear are available from the counselor and/or grade- level principal. a. Minor infractions: (Such as wearing a head rap, du-rag, or hat) Students may wear white T-shirts under the polo style shirts. No other colors will be permitted as it constitutes a violation of the dress code. Students will receive a warning and/or other progressive discipline consequences. b.
Major or repeated infractions: (Such as not wearing a uniform)
