Plato Credit Recovery

PLATO Learning Logo Waltrip High School is proud to offer credit recovery using Plato software. If you would like to participate in this program please contact Cynthia Krohn 713-688-1361 Ext 347 or email her at ckrohn@houstonisd.org

Students may log in to the Plato web site and work at their own pace. Click here to log in.
 
You can work on your Credit Recovery Courses here at school 
  • in the Library from 4:00 to 5:30 Monday - Friday 
  • in a tutorial classroom on Saturday from 8:00 to 12:00
  • in room 124 7:10 AM - 8:10 AM

Offline tests and course final exams must be requested 24 hours in advance from Mrs. Krohn and must be completed on campus. Please complete the form and place it in the box outside Mrs. Krohn's office. Blank forms are also available in Mrs. Krohn's office.

 

All Plato Credit Recovery coursework must be completed by October 30, 2009.

When you believe that you have completed everything, print a progress report from your account and see Mrs. Krohn.

 
 
Instructions for installing PLATO

 
  • Install latest Adobe Reader to view the Portable Document Format (PDF) files, including the user guide, learner guide and curriculum guides.
     
    Macintosh Users
     
    1. If you will be using the following courseware, download and install the Macromedia Shockwave Player Installer and PLATO Xtras plug-ins:
      • Basic Skills for the Real World
      • Beginning Reading for the Real World (including Skills Inventory)
      • Job Skills for the Real World
      • Math Expeditions (including Skills Inventory)
      • Projects for the Real World
      • Reading Explorations

      If you will not be using the above courseware, go to the next step.
       

    2. If you will be using the PLATO Biology Series and/or PLATO Chemistry Series courseware, download and install this Macromedia Authorware Web Player plug-in.
       
    3. Download and install this Macromedia Flash? Web Player plug-in.
     
    Windows PC Users
     
    1. If you will be using the following courseware, download and install the Macromedia Shockwave Player Installer and PLATO Xtras plug-ins (requires administrative privileges):

      If you will NOT be using the above courseware, go to the next step.

    2. If you will be using the PLATO Biology Series and/or PLATO Chemistry Series courseware and you have Internet Explorer, download and install this Macromedia Authorware Web Player plug-in.

      If you will be using the PLATO Biology Series and/or PLATO Chemistry Series courseware and you have Netscape, download and install this Macromedia Authorware Web Player plug-in.

    If you will NOT be using the PLATO Biology Series and/or PLATO Chemistry Series courseware, go to the next step.

    If you have Internet Explorer?: If you have Netscape?:
    1. Download and run this Macromedia Flash Web Player plug-in. Go to step 13.
    1. Download this Macromedia Flash Web Player plug-in to your computer's desktop. NOTE: This plug-in does not run automatically after being downloaded.
    1. On the desktop, double-click the Netscape plug-in installer icon. Follow the installation instructions.
    1. Click OK when the Setup completed successfully dialog displays.
    2. Restart the web browser to activate changes.
