Spanish Club Organization at Waltrip High School

The Spanish Club will celebrate Hispanic culture and promotes interest in the study of Spanish. Our members will engage in cultural activities, provide peer tutoring, and participate in other services than include games, crafts, making and eating Hispanic foods, watching videos in Spanish, and occasional trips to restaurants, exhibits, or other local events with a Hispanic flavor

Culminating the year with the exciting and educational Pan-American Student Forum in San Antonio March 9-10

The Spanish Club is primarily a social organization which unites those students who are studying Spanish courses or speak Spanish.  It is open to students in all levels of Spanish. 

Meetings are held once a month after school or during lunch time.

Membership dues are $10 per year.

Club Information

We are glad to welcome all of our members, to the 2006-2007 Spanish Club.

  This year, The Spanish Club participates in a number of cultural and community service projects, culminating in the exciting and educational Pan-American Student Forum in San Antonio. To qualify for this trip you must be passing all your classes and have an excellent conduct.

Pan American dues are $10.00 in order to qualify to go to San Antonio plus the forms by October 31st 2006; members must be active in club activities so that they may earn points. Members do not begin accumulating points until they have paid dues. You will earn two points for attending each meeting, one point for bringing in items, and five points for participating in club events.

Club t-shirts will be available soon.

This year, the Spanish Club will participate in the following activities:

• Community service projects
•  Salsa and lessons from a student of Dance Club  ( Tuesday and Wednesday –Room 304)
• Cooking authentic foods from Spanish speaking countries. Cultural Club
• Go to an authentic Mexican restaurant. All
• Watch movies and TV shows in Spanish. Cultural
• Study music and lyrics to songs in Spanish. Cultural
• Practice conversational Spanish, guest speakers. Cultural – Oct 18th
• Fund raiser – Pan American Dinner. All  ( November 10^th 2006)
• Tutor students. All
• Educational Pan-American Student Forum in San Antonio. March 9-10 2006. All
