Rambling Roses Requirements
1. Roses Candidates must turn
in a ''Tryout'' form , recent picture, most recent report card, and a ''Parents
Approval for Participation in Athletics'', must be filled out, signed and notarized
(if necessary). These must be returned to Ms. Gillis in room 104 to be considered
as a candidate.
2. Scholarship:
- Must have an overall average of 70 or above, currently or for the preceding semester.
- Candidates must currently be passing all subjects.
Candidates must have no course failures for the preceding semester.
3. Conduct:
Candidates must have an overall average of no lower than S currently
and for each 9 or 6 weeks grading period during the preceding semester.
4. Attendance: Candidates must have no more than 5 absences
in any class for a semester
5. Applicants must attend after school clinic from 3:30 PM to 5 PM with the
Roses' Officers.
6. Absences from clinic (unless an excused emergency) may result in student's
ineligibility to tryout for dance team.
7. Candidates will tryout before a committee of judges who will select the squad.
8. Roses will be required to take Roses Class during both fall and spring semester
(4th and 8th).
9. Parents are responsible for medical expenses due to any injury incurred during
tryout sessions for dance.
10. All Roses are responsible for his/her own transportation to and from after
school practice.
11. Roses will be expected to attend a summer dance camp selected by the sponsor.
12. Expenses for Roses will include camp tuition, uniforms, and all dance accessories.
Approximate cost: $650 (with installments).
* The Rambling Roses tryouts for the year 2001/2002 have already been held. If you missed them, we hope to see you at tryouts next year!
