Course Description

International Marketing students will develop an appreciation for the elements involved in global marketing which includes cultural, economics, political, and social aspect. The course focuses on e-commerce, entrepreneurship, and international business.

Prerequisites:

The student needs to be in grades 10-12 and have an interest in business and/or international marketing.

    Students need to bring a calculator, #2 pencil, paper, and jump drive to class each day.

    Course Objectives:

    The students will be able to do the following:

  • Design a web page for an international business
  • Develop a business plan
  • Identify country locations on a map and compare their resources.
  • Discuss various countries business practices due to culture
  • Discuss ethical practices of different countries
  • Compare business laws and trade agreements
  • Research aspects of e-commerce on the web
  • Present a power point presentation on the international business practices of a country
  • Participate in group projects and case analysis on the functions of marketing and international business
  • Discuss the future of global business
  • Investigate job opportunities in marketing, sales, and international business
  • Participate in selling projects and DECA
  • Analyze income statements, balance sheets, and graphs
