During the first week of class, you will have an essay quiz that covers all readings. The quiz will require that you have the reading materials with you for quotes and evidence. While you may check out Gatsby and the play from a library, you must have them with you during the first six weeks of school. If you do not have your materials with you at the time the quiz is administered, you will take the quiz without them.  Writing an essay without supporting evidence will bring your grade down considerably.
