Printing Labels from a Data Base

Macintosh/PC

 

PC

1.  Open the Application AppleWorks.
2.  Select Data Base.
3.  For the fields enter in all upper case letters the following field names:
  • NAME
  • ADDRESS
  • CITY STATE ZIP

4.  Select Done after you enter the last field name.
5.  Select List from the Layout menu.
6. Enter your information in the first row.
7.  Create 30 rows with your information in them. (Command D)
8.  From the Layout menu select New Label Layout
9.  Select next.
10.  Select next again.
11.  Select Done.

12.  The default should be Avery 5160. If it is not then select it.
13.  Select next.
14.  The default number of lines per label should be three.

15.  Select next.
16.  In the Line 1 box select NAME.

17.  In the Line 2 box select ADDRESS.
18.  In the Line 3 box select CITY STATE ZIP.
19.  Select Next.
20.  You can change the font, font size, and font style if you like.
21.  Select Next.
22.  Name the label as your last nameLabel
23.Select Next.
24. Select Create.
25. Go to file and select print.
26. Set the quantity as 30.
27. Select Preview.

 

 

  1.  Open the Application Microsoft Works.
2. Select the Works Tools tab.

3.  Select Data Base.
4.  For the fields enter in all upper case letters the following field names:
  • NAME
  • ADDRESS
  • CITY STATE ZIP

5.  Select Done after you enter the last field name.
6.  You must now enter the data into the fields. In the first row enter your name, date, period station and activity:
7.  Enter your real address information in the next row.

8.  Copy the information in the row and paste for a total of 30 rows.
9. Go to tools and select Labels.
10. From the Dialog box select Labels.
11. Select Next.
12.
From the label list select Avery 5160.
13. Select Next.
14. Select Next.
15. Select Next.
16. From the Add Fields window select:

  • NAME (Then return)
  • ADDRESS (Then return)
  • CITY, STATE, ZIP

17.  Select Next.
18. Select Next.
19. Select Preview.
20. Select OK
21. If the labels look correct in the preview window you can now select Print.
22. Select OK
23. Print on the Laser Printer.
24. Turn in the print out.
25. Select Close.
26. Close the document.
27. When prompted to save select Yes.
28. Enter My Labels for the name of the file.
29. Browse to the Student Folder and save the file to your Period Folder.
