Database Part 1 - Setting up a Database


Macintosh/PC

1.  Open the application AppleWorks.
2.  Select the Basic tab.
3.  Select the Database Icon.
4.  In the Field Name window enter the following field names in upper case letters:
  • LNAME
  • FNAME
  • ADDRESS
  • CITY
  • STATE
  • ZIP
  • HPHONE
  • WPHONE

5.  Select Done.
6.  From Layout menu select List.
7.  Enter your information in the first line
8. Select New Record.

9.  Enter the data in the fields for 9 more people.
10.  Adjust the width of the fields to accept the data.
11.  Go to the Format menu and select Header.
12.  Enter into the header the following information:
13.  Your Name, Date, Period, Station, and Activity.
14.  Go to page set up and select the Landscape icon.
15.  Go to the Print and select print preview.
16.  Check to make sure that all data fits in the print area.

17.  You may need to adjust the field widths.
18.  Print the database. (B&W laser printer)
19.  Turn in the document.
