MATE Robotics Contest 2008
The Waltrip Technology Education robotics team participated
in the 2008 MATE Underwater Robotics Competition April 19, 2008 at the NASA Sony
Carter training center in Clearlake. Driving the Waltrip ROV was Stephen
Roberts. He was supported by teammates Grayson Carter, Nathan Hubbard, Eliza
Porterfield, Melisa Lu, and Jr member Robert Lipham.
The Waltrip team finished 2nd in the Robot part
of the contest and finished 5th in the overall contest which included
an engineering presentation and display board. The winning team from Nimitz HS
will go on to the international contest at the Scripts Institute in San Diego in
June.
