Your task is to produce a viable rocket with good flight characteristics.

• one sheet of paper 8.5"X11"
• 2 3"X5" cards
• 6" of Scotch tape
• Hot glue or wood glue

• Scissors
• ½" PVC rod 12" long

1. Roll the sheet of paper around the piece of PVC provided.
2. Tape or glue the sheet into a tube that slides easily over the PVC
3. Create a nose cone out of card stock and glue to paper tube
4. Design and cut fins out of card stock and glue to paper tube

Notes to teachers: Launch tube can be made by wrapping duct tape around an air gun nozzle and forcing a 12" piece of ½" PVC onto the nozzle. Clamp it to a wood screw clamp at angle desired for either down range or high altitude launch.

Recycling: Use left over lunch menus for paper. Old folders can be cut into cards for fins and nose cones.
