Lunch and Lecture by Lt. General John R. Allen

The premise for the study of Social Science is to provide an understanding and appreciation of our American Heritage, Cultural Ideas, and how they developed. Students are able to see how events of our country’s past influence the present and will obviously affect the future.

The Social Science Department prepares students to be informed citizens who participate effectively in our society. This study includes significant TAKS related materials, people, issues, and events as they relate to social, political, and economical history. Content when relevant, emphasizes cultural pluralism as a characteristic of our society both past and present.
