	Our Office Duties: 1. Performs Vision and Hearing screenings mandated by TDH guidelines 2. Maintains immunizations records on all campus students 3. Coordinate health care for students with chronic medical conditions 4. Promotes good nutrition & physical exercise 5. Promotes good hygiene practices for everyone 6. Screens referred ill students and notifies parents 7. Administers medicines & treatments when prescribed by physician 8. Performs Scoliosis & ANTES screening on all 9^th graders
Students who become ill at school should obtain a permit from the teacher whose class he/she is missing and report to the clinic. No student will be seen without a permit except in extreme emergencies. By state law, students must have up-to-date immunizations. Students who received a DPT shot upon entering the first grade will require another DPT immunization in the tenth grade. Parents are requested to cooperate with the school nurse in keeping the immunizations current. Administering Medication to Students: Parent must provide a written request. Medication must be in its original container. Prescription medication must be accompanied by a written statement from a physician or dentist. Medication will be kept in the clinic. Medication will be administered by the nursing staff or a school employee.
