Hello to all community members, parents and students,

 The Arts and Communication Academy at Waltrip High School  is one of four small learning communities we have in our school. In our academy, we strive to give our students a comprehensive look at different disciplines within the art and communication fields. We offer different strands of courses that our students can choose from. Students with interest in these fields can find a productive experience by joining our academy. 

 In the past four years since the small learning communities were established at Waltrip HS, our academy has enjoyed plenty of excellent rewards through very successful programs and classes. There are too many events to name all of them, and in the spirit of trying not to leave anyone out of the picture, I would respectfully request that you continue to visit our web page where we will periodically update activities, competition results, and upcoming important events.

 Parents, your support is important, appreciated, and provides needed recognition for our students and staff. Our teachers work very diligently to provide your children with the best possible educational experience we can give them. However, this effort will not produce the expected results without your involvement, participation, and encouragement. Your children deserve the best possible education and preparation to face the "world after high school". Your involvement is necessary for that to happen successfully. Ask your children about school, about the assignments they must complete, about their daily experiences in school, and encourage them daily to complete their homework and study in preparation for every class they are taking. There is no substitute for your support and involvement. And, we can't do it without you.
