ANNOUNCEMENTS AND DEADLINES
PTA GENERAL ASSOCIATION MEETING - APRIL 15 at 6:30 pm. Election of
Officers for 2008-2009. If you are interested in being on the Waltrip
PTA Board next year or in helping with any PTA activities, please
contact Jan Rotenberry at

Sometime during the week of April 21, the 5th Six Weeks Report cards
will be sent home.
PARENT VOLUNTEERS ARE REALLY NEEDED AND APPRECIATED- Wednesday, April
30- Friday, May 2 for TAKS testing. Since the students cannot leave the
classrooms during testing, a few parents are needed each day to help
deliver lunch orders and snacks from approximately 10am - 2pm each day.
Parent volunteers must be VIP approved, must check in for a visitor pass
in the front office and then report to Ms Curvey in the Health Academy.
Please respond to me by email, so that I can let Ms Curvey know who is
coming and when.
Next (and Last) Choice Dress Day - May 7, 2008. Volunteers will be
needed as usual.

PTA will be running a "Concession Stand" each day during summer school
which runs from June 5 - July 2. The concession stand sells drinks and
snacks to students who are enrolled in summer school at Waltrip. It is
only open for the morning break - 15 minutes each day. I am looking for
helpers on a daily or weekly basis. It is a very busy 15 minutes each
of the 20 days of summer school, but
greatly appreciated by
summer school staff and students alike. This is a great opportunity for
those of you who teach and are not able to help at Waltrip during the
regular school year. Please contact me at
lvjennett@comcast.net if you can give a few minutes of your time
during the first weeks of the summer. Although this is called a
fundraiser, it is primarily intended to be a service for the school.
Students not attending summer school can earn service hours for
helping. Thank you.
