The Sharpstown High School's track team is leading the pack in many fields as the district championships approach.  Cullen Wallace leads the field in the long jump and the triple jump.
Sharpstown wins Best Actor and Best Actress award at the UIL competion.  Congratulations to Mr. Roger Rossi and the crew for making Sharpstown so proud.
Abraham Correan unleashes a powerful "slider" as he helps The Mighty Sharpstown Apollos defeat Furr High in a scrimmage game held at Sharpstown in Friday 2-8, 2008.  There was good crowd of Apollo fans on hand to help cheer the team to victory.

Sharpstown Band wins Mr. Holland Opus Award and is the first Apollo Band to compete in U.I.L. competition in 27 years.  The Sharpstown Band is lead by Mrs. Brenda Corral-Smith and Mr. Roger Willis.  The Mighty Apollo Band won this year's Mr. Holland Opus award.  The band won the award with over 300 other band competing for the great honor.  Fantastic job Apollo Band!!!
Several band members and Mr. Brenda Corral-Smith were given the opportunity to attend a Kenny G concert, then go back-stage and visit with him after the show.   Free concert attendance and meeting celebrities is just a couple of perks that is allotted to the Apollo Band for winning the Mr. Holland Opus Award.  What an awesome opportunity for our members!
Eduardo is back! Eduardo Manguia, who shined as the field goal kicker for the football team, has changed gears and is now getting  ready for the upcoming soccer season.  The team is now forming.  If you are interested in playing soccer please contact Mr. Robert Jones, the head Boys Soccer Coach.
Welcome to Sharpstown.  We are proud to introduce our newest member of the SHS staff.  Ms. Courtney Crosby is the new administrative assistant to Mr. John Allen.  Welcome aboard!!  We're glad you joined our winning team.
Sharpstown gets a big thumbs-up on evacuation drill. On Thur. 12-6 the entire school evacuated the building and entered busses in the parking lot in just over 50 minutes. The drill is part of a major disaster preparedness plan.  Good job faculty and staff.
Congratulations to the 2007-2008 Homecoming Court. The court finalist were announced at the Homecoming game on Sat. Congratulations on a victory to the teaching staff. Mrs. Mills, Ms. Reisdorf, Mrs. Grant, and Coach Blacklock took on the girls varsity volleyball team and won 2 games to 1. The event was held as a fund raiser for the team. Gooo Teachers!
The members of our football team that moved here from New Orleans after hurricane Katrina were honored on Friday November 16th. Each member received a certificate of excellence award. Sam Carter and a Wheatly player was given MVP trophies.
Congratulations to the Varsity Boy's Basketball Team for winning the Davis' Slater Martin Varsity Basketball Tournament. The Apollos were awesome as they demonstrated "Team Defense". Cullen Wallace "personal-record-game-high" 9 blocked shots. Offensive leadership came from Senior Adrian Hodges averaging 20 points per game. The Apollos had to play a stubborn Sterling Raiders sharp shooting team.  In the last round the Apollos "Raided" the Raiders defeating them by fourteen points to capture the first tournament of the season.  Goooooooo Apollos!
Congratulations to our Honor Roll Students.  On Friday Nov. 16th the students were treated to  pizza and dessert as they listened to guest speakers from Rice University.
Deadly Accurate!  Eduardo Manguia is the field goal kicker for the Sharpstown Apollos.  When Eduardo kicks it's a sure score.  Eduardo also stars as a Soccer player. He is the captain of the Apollo's soccer team and he is a member of the Professional Houston Dynamo's Academy team.  No matter which sport he pursues Manguia is sure to go PRO!!
