Lieutenant Colonel Jimmy F. Garret
Senior Army Instructor
Lieutenant Colonel Jimmy F. Garrett was born on 16 May 1951
in Center Texas. After high school, he attended Prairie View
A&M University and graduated in 1973 as a Distinguished
Military Graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps with
a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science.
He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Signal
Corps, and he served in a variety of Command and Staff
positions. As a company grade officer, his assignments
included: 1974-1975 Platoon Leader, B Company, 123rd Signal
Battalion, Wurzburg Germany; 1975-77, Assistant S-3,
Division Support Command, 3rd Infantry Division, Wurzburg,
Germany; 1978-1979, Signal Staff Officer, 1st Brigade, 1st
Cavalry Division, Ft. Hood Texas; 1979-1980, B Company
Commander, 54th Signal Battalion, 3rd Signal Brigade
Ft. Hood Texas;1980-83, Assistant Professor of Military
Science, Prairie View University; 1983-84, Chief of Supply,
Izmir Forward Depot, Izmir, Turkey.
As a field grade officer, his assignments included: 1984-86,
Plans/Operations Officer, Division Support Command, 1st
Cavalry Division, Ft. Hood Texas; 1986-89, S-3 and Executive
Officer, 13th Signal Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Ft.
Hood Texas; 1989-91, Deputy Chief, MIJI Division, Joint
Electronic Warfare Center, Kelly Air Force Base, Texas;
1991-94, Professor of Military Science, Prairie View A&M
University. Lieutenant Colonel Garrett assumed his current
position as Senior Army Instructor, Scarborough High School
on 5 July 1994.
Lieutenant Colonel Garrett’s military education includes:
the Signal Basic Course in 1973; the Communications-
Electronics Staff Course in 1974; the Signal Advanced
Course1977; the Supply Management Course in 1984; Command
and General Staff College, 1987; and Prairie View A& M
University, 1982, where he received a Masters of Business
Administration Degree.
Awards and decorations include: Defense Meritorious Service
Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, with three oak
clusters, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army
Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Army
Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Army Service
Ribbon, and the Overseas Ribbon.
Lieutenant Colonel Garrett is married to the former Diane
Henderson, they have two daughters and three grandchildren.

Sergeant Cyril F. Allwein
Army Instructor
Master Sergeant Cyril F. Allwein was born on 16 September
1951 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. After high school, he
attended St. Joseph’s College, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania
until May of 1970 when he entered active duty with the
United States Army.
He served in a variety of assignments during his 24 years of
military service which included the following: 1971-72, U.
S. Army Depot, Danang, Republic of South Vietnam; 1972-73
the 50th Engineer Company, United States Military Academy,
West Point, New York; 1973-75, the 609th Transportation
Company and 598th Light Maintenance Company, Ft. Benning,
Georgia; 1975-1982 Unites States Army Recruiting Command,
Harrisburg PA; 1982-1985, U.S. Army Recruiting School, Ft.
Benjamin Harrison, Indiana; 1985-1987, U.S. Army Recruiting
Command, Pittsburg, PA; 1987-90, 54th Area Support Group,
Rheinburg, Germany; 1990-94, U.S. Army Readiness Group Los
Angles, Los Alamitos CA. Upon retirement from the Army in
1994 he accepted a position as Army Instructor at Sam
Houston High School, Houston Independent School District. He
assumed his current position as Army Instructor at
Scarborough High School in April 1997.
Master Sergeant Allwein’s military and civilian education
Stock Control and Special Repair Parts Course in 1970, Basic
Recruiter and Career Counselor Course, 1975, the Recruiting
Instructor Course, 1982, the Non-Commissioned Officer
Advanced Course, 1987. In 2000 he received his Bachelor of
Science Degree in Psychology from Liberty University,
Lynchburg VA.

Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement
Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Vietnam Campaign Medal, the
Vietnam Service Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, the National
Defense Ribbon and the Overseas Ribbon.
MSG Allwein is married to the former Anne Eisenhauer; they
have two sons and one grandchild.
