OUR HISTORYSharpstown High School is located in southwest Houston in the suburban community of Sharpstown. The students are from a diverse sector of society with a myriad of family income ranging from the affluent to subsistence. The school had its initial ground breaking in the spring of 1968 at 8300 Triola Street, and moved to the current location in the fall on 1970. The initial enrollment of 10th through 12th graders was 752 currently the school’s enrollment is 1700 students of the 9th through 12th grades. The Sharpstown High School has developed a Leadership Magnet program that was created in the 1994 -1995 school year. The battalion participates in many community events to include parades and competitions. In the spring the battalion holds an annual military ball to provide an opportunity for cadets to participate in a formal social function.
The Sharpstown High School JROTC has the overall responsibility of providing instructional programs designed to
motivate young people to be better citizens at the high school.
