Making the Grade Instructions

2. Select the second option displayed is “Software – trail version and upgrades!”

Select the appropriate version of the software, print and follow the instructions displayed.

4. IMPORTANT!! If you have elected to download the latest WIN version from the publisher's web site, you will need to obtain the "key" (or registration file) placed in the same folder with the installed program files. Without the key file, the program you download and install will run as a demo only. Once you receive the key file, you will need to copy the file and paste it into the MTG folder on your computer.

The prompt will ask if you want to open the file or save the file.
You want to save the file. When asked for a location for the file,
browse to the MTG folder and save there.

This full 32 bit version represents the latest effort towards total customer satisfaction from Jay Klein Productions. This release brings the Macintosh and Windows products together.

This self-expanding file can be used for trial users and previous owners alike.

First time "trial" users will be able to fully evaluate our product before making a "purchase" decision. When purchasing, a simple phone call to Jay Klein Productions will turn your Windows trial version into a registered version.

Previously registered users can use the downloaded file for immediate upgrade thereby remaining current with our latest version.

Note: For Record Breaker users, you can use our 32-bit version of "Making the Grade" to migrate your class files.

Special Administrator's Note: Our 32 bit (Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP) product supports network installs.

Step 1: Download the latest executable MTG92d.EXE as a single-file (3.11 MB).

As a "single-file" download, place the file into a temporary directory and execute the file. This is a self expanding executable that will provide all files necessary to install or upgrade. Run the SETUP.EXE file from the temporary directory.

(NOTE: For Password entries, simply press the "Enter" key without entering any password.)

Step 3: Click the Save button and save the file to the Temp folder on the C: drive.

Step 4: The file will download to your computer and the MTG92d icon will be displayed in the Temp folder.

Step 5: Double Click MTG92d icon a message will appear, asking where to unzip the file. The path C:\\Windows\Temp is displayed. If this path is not displayed type in C:\\Windows\Temp, this path is to a temporary folder, and click Unzip. The file unzip, displaying a message at the end that 19 files successfully unzipped, click OK.

Step 6: The install window appears, click Next. The second screen give you instructions, click Next.

Step 9: The Select Program Folder dialog box (displayed below) appears. In the Programs Folders field MTG appears. If MTG is not descriptive enough type in “Making the Grade” in this field and click Next.

Step 10: Start Copying Files appears, click Next.

Step 11: Making the Grade installs and the Setup Complete dialog box appears. The option to View the Readme file is selected, deselect the check by clicking on the check, click Finish.

Step 12: The file mtg_reg.mrf is a key we will provide to you to make the downloaded temporary demo a permanent file. The key must be copied into the same folder as the program. The program should be located on the C: drive under the folder MTG or Making the Grade depending on if you changed it in Step 9.
