Mapping a network drive and
placing a shortcut on your desktop
 
  1. Make sure you are logged-in to the computer
  2. From the DESKTOP, right-click on the MY COMPUTER icon
  3. From the menu, choose "Map Network Drive"
  4. (The "Map Network Drive" box appears)
  5. For "Drive", Choose the letter "K" from the drop-down arrow
  6. For "Folder", type: \\reagan-rs02\Teachers
  7. "Check" the box for RECONNECT AT LOGON
  8. Click "Finish"
  9. A folder appears displaying the contents of the drive you just mapped

    If you want a shortcut to your mapped drive,
    continue here:
  10. Browse in the folder for a folder with your name
  11. Rt-click and choose "Create Shortcut"
  12. The shortcut will appear (highlighted)

Note: Click the "Restore down" option if you cannot see the Desktop in the background,

  1. Click on the shortcut and drag on to the desktop

    You're done!
