Are you interested in Technology?

The Middle College for Technology Careers High School @TSU magnet program introduces students to new areas such as telecommunication services, computer applications, electronic systems, communication systems, and solar power.  MCTC students can also prepare for possible technical internships during student’s senior year.

MCTC Entry Requirements:

In order to be considered for enrollment at MCTC students must have:

ü      An overall grade average of 80 in major academic courses

ü      Standardized test scores at or above grade level

ü      Acceptable attendance and conduct performance

ü      Parental consent, and

ü      Completed application with all required materials

Supporting Materials Needed:

An application must be accompanied with quality photocopies (not originals) of the following documents.

ü      Student’s most recent report card

ü      Standardized test scores (6^th and 7^th grade TAKS)

ü      Student’s immunization records

ü      Middle School permanent record (6^th, 7^th grade)

Questions about MCTC Magnet Program may be directed to the Magnet Office @713.523.9097.  The Magnet Office can also arrange for students and their parents to tour campus.

Bus transportation is available for qualified HISD and out of district students.  Details are available in the MCTC Magnet Office.  MCTC High School @ TSU is conveniently located on Metro bus line.

It may not be easy…

Many of the students face a long bus ride, after school tutorials, higher expectations, and more homework.  However, the sacrifices are worth it  As a result, students develop strong self-discipline, excellent study habits and ability to think on their feet.  How else would we consistently be one of the top ranked HISD schools?
