The faculty and staff of MCTC are excited about the plans and possibilities of the 2005-2006 school year. We are excited about the opportunities that are available to MCTC students as they prepare to meet the challenges of the new millennium. At MCTC our exemplary school status has been achieved by adhering to the HISD core values.
Safety
above all else
Student learning is the main thing
Focus on Results and Excellence
Parents are Partners
Common Decency
Our academic focus includes TAKS Mastery, End of Course examination proficiency and acceptable scores on college entrance examinations.
MCTC is designed to maintain a small enrollment in the proximity of 400 students. Consequently, as a small school, we do not offer the variety of academic programs common to large schools. All MCTC students are enrolled in Career and Technology Education (CATE) courses. We are confident that the MCTC academic program, with its emphasis on math, electronics, and technology, will challenge students to reach their greatest potential.
All students are encouraged to participate in school-sponsored clubs and organizations. Most of the clubs and organizations, with the exception of UIL athletic teams, are common to most public high schools.
In order to maintain a safe, professional and focused environment, MCTC has a mandatory uniform dress code. The dress code consists of solid white top with collar and sleeves. Bottoms (pants, shorts, dresses, shorts or skirts) are navy blue or khaki. Shoes must have a back strap and closed toe.
The administration, faculty, and staff of MCTC encourage all parents and guardians to be actively involved in our school... Our active PTO is always looking for new members and new ideas. At MCTC we understand clearly that success comes before work only in the dictionary.
