Texas Assessment of Knowledge
and Skills (TAKS) Resources
The Texas
Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) Test is the state mandated
measure of academic success. Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors
will be tested in four subject areas: Language Arts,
Mathematics, Social Studies and Science.
- Last year the
Freshman and Sophomore scores were used to determine Kashmere
High School's state rating. Junior scores determine
whether not student meets the graduation requirements of the
state.
- Kashmere offers
daily tutorials during the school day to help prepare students
for success on the TAKS test.
- Kashmere offers
Saturday morning tutorials. The Saturday tutorials begin
at 8:30 with breakfast for the students.
- In addition, many
teachers offer before and after school tutorials. You may
contact the individual teachers for information about any
tutoring offered.

The Texas
Education Agency (TEA) offers a number resources to help students
prepare for the TAKS Test.
- TEA has prepared study
guides in each of the four subject areas.
- TEA. also releases
previously taken TAKS tests to the public. These released
TAKS tests are a good practice for students.
