Experienced child-care workers may get advanced training to prepare for opening their own business or supervising other workers in an existing program. This program is likely to include elements of business management, interpersonal communications, human resource management, and the legal aspects of social services as well as courses in child development, emergency medical response, and other subjects. Job openings for the owners and managers of child-care services are expected to grow about as fast as the rest of the economy in the next decade.
