Chronicle Classroom offers Jamilah Beene and 12 other students a glimpse into real world

I am Jamilah Beene a senior at Jesse Jones High School. I am truly an example of a student who has change her life by getting involved into different organizations. My first year at Jones High School I was classified as one of the worst students because I wanted to follow the crowd, fit in. But, I was different and it took me a while to accept that I was. It was difficult pulling away from the crowd I hung with because they felt I was a back stabber. "You a goody girl now" is what they would tell me. So what, after joining many organizations, I changed.  I found out that I didn't have to be bad to be known. Because of my dramatic change,  I am now Miss Jesse Jones and have a lot to stand for. Just imagine where I would be if I had not changed. My whole point is it's never too late to get on the right track; change can be good. We don't need many friends because in the end we can count the number of our friends on one hand.
