JESSE H. JONES HIGH SCHOOL
SATURDAY SCHOOL
Jones High School is providing Saturday tutorials for students who are in need of academic assistance free of charge to the parents. This gives Jones High School and Jones Students a great opportunity, to provide students with an academic assistant program developed around an individual’s needs.
Jones High School teachers will provide the tutorials for this program. Jones will provide teachers in English, Math, Science, and History. We have also included a computer lab segment into the day, so the students can enjoy some hands-on learning activity. This includes TRACK and SAT Prep. Saturday school is not a normal classroom setting and not just another day of school. Instead, Jones offers small learning environments of one-teacher-to ten-fifteen students. Jones is experiencing great success in student learning and increased test scores with small learning groups in our TAKS and Credit Recovery\Restoration classes.
The schedule is set up so that we have 2 classroom segments 1 and 1/2 hours each. We will have 1 segment and then take a 15 minute break and then continue with the second segment. Jones High School will provide breakfast and lunch for the students free of charge.
