Mission

Career and Technical Education lays the foundation for rewarding careers by emphasizing technical skills, building   workplace competencies, reinforcing academic concepts, and providing leadership development opportunities. Career and Technical Education teaches both citizenship and life skills; and encourages students to practice critical and creative thinking, participate in career exploration, and develop academic plans that prepare them for entry into the workplace, technical school, community college, or a four-year college or university.

Belief

We believe:

  • Every student should develop career and technical skills and knowledge in high school.
  • Academic and career education is meaning and relevance to education as a whole.
  • CTE teachers use a variety of strategies, and stay up-to-date with technology advances and industry trends.

A new choice for students

This academy will focus on preparing you for the real world by exposing you to practical work experiences.  You may be wondering why you need to worry about the business world or what connection it has to you.

Studies have shown that students enrolled in career academies outperform those not attending career academies.  Also, many businesses have reported that they are forced to offer remedial education for new employees in math and English.

Through our job shadowing and coop programs, we offer you a chance to be one step ahead of the pack.  We offer a rigorous academic program coupled with real world experience where your academic studies can be readily applied.

CAREER PATH OPTIONS:

  • Administrative Support
