Greetings Class of 2013 Candidates!

Do you expect big things in your future? Are you energetic? Do you find challenges exciting? Well DeBakey HSHP is your school. DeBakey HSHP has the world class faculty and rigorous curriculum it takes to prepare you so that you can realize your dreams.

At DeBakey, you will work with other goal-focused students who want to succeed. Together, you will study, complete projects, perform community service, and explore math, science, medicine, and health.

Along the way, your confidence and leadership skills will grow. You will have many opportunities to demonstrate your skills through contests and other competitive opportunities. You may find a place in Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA); or maybe Math Club, Softball Club, or Tennis Club might be your choice. Whatever the case, at DeBakey each student finds a place.

  1. Get an application from your counselor, from the Houston ISD Magnet Office Website or download the 2009-2010 application here in PDF format.
  2. Complete the application:
  • Application
  • Immunization record
  •  7th grade final report card
  • 8th grade report card (most current)
  • Proof of residency
  •  Test record card
  • Permanent record card
  1. Turn in all 7 items. Our address is 3100 Shenandoah, Houston, Texas 77021.
  2. Call the DHSHP Magnet Office and schedule your test date.
  3. Take your admission exam.

Registration:  7:30 a.m.- 7:55 a.m.
Testing: 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Dismissal: 9:30 a.m.

Registration:  9:45 a.m.- 10:10 a.m.
Testing: 10:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
Dismissal: 11:45 a.m.
