Attendance Appeal Procedure |
|||||
|
ASTERISK(*) If a student exceeds the absence limit for a semester or for the year on an annual promotion course, an asterisk (*) will appear next to the grade on the report card for the appropriate cycle. Even though the grade may be passing, no credit is awarded. Provision for Absence Appeal Students will receive a letter that they are to take home to their parents notifying them of the need to appeal for credit. An academy attendance committee hears appeals from students who cannot receive credit for courses due to excessive absences. The principal (or designee) shall serve as chairperson of the committee. The committee shall review extenuating circumstances for class credit for student who was in attendance less than the number of days required for the semester or year. Students will be required to complete an hour make-up to regain credit prior to meeting the committee. Forms for make-up sessions are located in the Academy Office. |
