MISSION STATEMENT

HISTORY

The mission of H.P. Carter Career Center is to  provide students from  diverse backgrounds an  opportunity to gain and improve their academic career, technological, social, and life skills to the fullest extent  possible so that they may live productive and constructive lives in a continuously changing American community.

H. P. Carter Career Center is a high school  aimed at helping  students focus on the future. Located in Houston's historic Fifth Ward, Carter has served many generations of  students in the area.  Built in the 1920's,the school has seen many changes while maintaining the high standards and ambitions with which it began. The neighborhood still thrives and appreciates the quality education offered at Carter.  This year, we have also become the home of Kay Village, a special   program for middle school girls.  This exciting  new venture is proving to be exacting and promising.
