The library houses over 27,000 books and audiovisuals and has subscriptions to over 100 periodicals. The library is fully automated and networked with 14 workstations for student use. Internet access is available on 11 student workstations and 3 workstations are dedicated to the online public access catalog. Four additional computers are available for use by the faculty. Space is available to accommodate 3 classes at a time and for silent study in carrels located in the rear section. A 15 computer Internet lab is also housed in the library which can be scheduled by teachers for Internet-based research. A multimedia student production center has been provided by the PTO which includes a color printer and a scanner.  Library hours are from 7:30 AM-4:15 PM, Monday through Friday.  The library is staffed by two librarians, Ms. Janice Albright and Ms. Jo Monday. Two library clerks, Ms. Kati Ross and Ms. Leonila Zambrano, are also available to help students and staff. Parent volunteers and student aides provide much needed and appreciated support in the day-to-day operation of the library. The library phone number is 713-295-3728.

Bellaire High School Library supports Information Power standards established by the American Association of School Librarians and has adopted the national mission statement as our own.  We believe that the library program positively affects student achievement and is necessary to support the needs of students and staff.

"What a school thinks about its library is a measure of what it thinks about education.”
Harold Howe, former U.S. Commissioner of Education
