What is Dual Credit?
A dual credit course is a Houston Community College course taken by a high school student for which the student earns both college and high school credit. The student takes the class at Austin High School and upon graduation, if the student enrolls at Houston Community College, they will receive credits toward their college diploma. Students can take dual credit classes, which would cost over $150 each at HCC, for only the cost of the textbook.
Finish College More Quickly
At Austin, students can take two classes that can earn them up to 9 credit hours at HCC. Those extra hours can help the student get their degree and enter the work force a semester earlier!
