TAKS ANNOUNCEMENTS

Attention parents and students: Because we are on Stage 3 AYP under the Federal Guidelines of “No Child Left Behind” (NCLB) a corrective action plan is require by TEA to address steps for improvement in conjunction with a Campus Action Plan. This plan consists of 6 options (choices). The Corrective Action Committee on our camp decided on Option 1 (Implementing a new curriculum). We consider our SIP an on-going working document, making changes as our needs change.  Austin High has developed a plan to assist those 10th grade students at risk for TAKS failure in math and ELA. Starting the spring semester, special “pull-out” classes will be scheduled. The Math and ELA content managers and the 10th grade Principal, Dr. Petterway, will research the 10th grade students who qualify for these pull-out sessions.  Math and ELA tutorials will also be provided after school and Saturdays.
